Sesame Street Stuffed Animals

Sesame Street stuffed animals were among the ones I was most excited to find in our plush toy collection here at Stuffed Safari.  As a child of the 80s growing up in the 90s, I received early exposure to the one-of-a-kind, critically-acclaimed show.  With the show’s perpetual popularity and so many lovable characters, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who’s not at least familiar with Sesame Street.

Created by Joan Ganz Cooney and Lloyd Morrisett, this series premiered on the U.S.’s national public television provider (PBS) since its debut on November 10, 1969.  Sesame Street marked a change in television entertainment as it used educational goals and learning curriculum as its foundation.  The producers re-shaped the television show to follow what they refer to as a Children’s Television Workshop model, or CTW.  It turned out to be a monumental success as children love to learn new things.

Growing up watching, it was a nice stroll down memory lane to see all of my favorite characters hanging out in the warehouse in the form of Sesame Street Stuffed Animals.  The whole gang is here: Bert, Ernie, Grover, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Elmo, and who can forget the infamous Oscar the Grouch?  I was encouraged even more to learn these toys were manufactured by Gund.  They specialize in baby-safe plush for young children, and did a fantastic job capturing the authentic and iconic look of all of these Sesame Street stuffed animals.  There’s a great article about Gund and their operations here on our blog.

We sell over 4,000 different plush toys at Stuffed Safari, but nothing warms my heart more than to see people purchasing Sesame Street stuffed animals for their children.  Many customers buy these timeless keepsakes for the nostalgic value.  There are so many great memories in this classic educational children’s show.  It taught us how to count, spell, and get along with one another.  Our way of showing gratitude is carrying a wide variety of Sesame Street stuffed animals to continue to spread the joy and development this show is all about.

Thank you, Sesame Street for your years of contribution to learning and education for children.  Thank you, Gund for making such wonderful quality Sesame Street stuffed animals.  And thank you for reading.  If you’re looking for some Sesame Street plush toys to bring home, look no further than Stuffed Safari.  We’re proud to carry these iconic characters and help continue the legacy of learning for generations to come.
